About ShaderWait
Last updated: October 11, 2026
ShaderWait is a daily gaming hub for everyone, from "what's a patch?" to "I read Mesa changelogs for fun." We gather patch notes, GPU driver releases, sim updates, server status and upcoming releases for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch in one place, and explain them in plain English when you want.
Who runs it
ShaderWait is built and run by Jagger Bollendorf, an independent developer and lifelong gamer who has spent an embarrassing number of hours watching "Compiling shaders… 37%". The name is a love letter to that loading bar.
Mission
Make staying up to date with your games fast, friendly and gatekeeping-free. Beginners get tooltips and "what this means for me" explainers; hardcore players get official driver data and the nerdy sources.
Where the data comes from
- Drivers: NVIDIA's official driver lookup, AMD release notes (versions tracked via TechPowerUp's driver mirror), Intel Arc driver versions, Mesa, plus community driver threads.
- Patches & news: Steam news feeds for specific games, PlayStation Blog, Xbox Wire, Nintendo Life, Eurogamer, PC Gamer, GamingOnLinux, TechPowerUp, Wccftech and others via their public RSS feeds.
- Shaders & Linux: DXVK, VKD3D-Proton and Proton GitHub releases.
- Status: official PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and Epic status endpoints.
- Calendar: Steam's upcoming releases and dates found in official headlines.
Editorial policy
- Every headline links to the original publisher. We show short excerpts, not full articles.
- Explainers and AI answers are clearly labeled with how they were made ("rule-based" or the AI provider). AI can be wrong, so check official notes.
- We don't accept payment to change news coverage. Sponsored content or affiliate links, if any, will be clearly labeled.
- Server status says "unknown" when we can't verify it. We don't guess.
